Categories No Categories

Description: This training is for service providers who have foundational knowledge about sexual exploitation and trafficking and are ready for a deeper dive into skills and practices. This training combines three topic areas: Stages of Change, Safety Planning, and Addressing Running Away Behavior, in an Advanced Skills Lab to explore specific strategies for working with youth who have experienced sexual exploitation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore the Stages of Change: behavior change theory, model, and application.
  • Learn how to recognize and target service responses to each stage.
  • Explore opportunities to build safety into relationships and learn concrete strategies for creating and supporting implementation of safety plans.
  • Understand running away as a behavior and learn to identify the “Push/Pull factors” to guide interventions to running away.
